Infrared Thermometer
Description:
Infrared Thermometer Insttuctions.
Infrared thermometers measure temperature from a distance. These thermometers work by measuring infrared radiation, which is a type of electromagnetic radiation that is below the visible spectrum of light. Any object whose temperature is above absolute zero contains moving molecules. As the temperature increases, so does the speed of molecular movement. As the molecules move they emit infrared radiation, which the thermometer can measure by using a small laser. Infrared thermometers are useful because they allow measurement of extremely hot or potentially hazardous substances without requiring contact.
